Company Description

Zica d.d, a joint-stock company from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, was founded in 1950 by incorporating the wire and nails production line situated at the Ironworks in Zenica. During its long operational period, Zica d.d. Sarajevo has acquired both a tradition and a business reputation that has made it become one of the largest former Yugoslav industrial companies in the area of metal processing. Its long history records several important periods. Notably, the construction and capacity expansion (Phase I), between 1968-1972, set the production to 120 000 ton per annum. Phase II, between 1976-1980, saw the investment of US$76 million thereby increasing technical capacity to ca. 188.000 ton per annum. According to data from 1992, Zica d.d. Sarajevo covered 70% of the former Yugoslav market.Today, Zica d.d. Sarajevo is a 100% privately owned company.
