In 1952 the Syrian industry was on appointment with our establishment of the first plastic factory producing articles of injection, blowing and extrusion.We managed, during a short period of time to satisfy all the market demand of household items and multiple industrial parts, the fact that encouraged us to expend our factory many times.In 1986 we have made a new step forward in the field of plastics, which was the industry of thermoforming and sheets (pp-ps), as we have constructed a totally new factory for this industry in Syria.We have completed multiple expansion processes till we became the main producer in this industry in Syria, that make us able to cover the largest part of our domestic market needs, and export to the neighboring countries, Gulf, Africa , as well as to some European countries.In 2002 White Star Presented With the International Star Award for Quality in GenevaThe Owner and Partner of Azar & Antaki Co., Mr Bachar Azar was presented the award in the gold category by the president of BID Business Initiative Directions, Jose E. Prieto. The presentation took place during the closing ceremony of the International Star Quality Award Convention held at the Hotel Intercontinental Genéve. It was attended by representatives from the realm of cultural activities, the business world and the diplomatic corps.Upon coming forward to receive the award, Mr. Bachar Azar was given a round of applause from an audience made up of participants from 61 countries. The group, made up of leaders in different business activities in their countries, had gathered on the common ground of a search for quality improvement.The International Star Award for Quality selection criteria is based on principles of the TQM, currently utilized in companies from over 100 countries and distributed under the name QC100. The 100 points of quality cover areas starting with Customer Satisfaction and continuing in sections related to communication, leadership, benchmarking, human resources, information analysis, decision-marking, continuous training, definition of systems and processes and business results.During the awards presentation the recipients were congratulated by all the participants who share appreciation for the efforts made and the business performance levels required to expand and have continued success.BID Awards recognize leading companies in some 166 countries, its conventions bringing together some of the worlds most remarkable companies and recognizing their achievements.
