Tianjin International Petroleum Storage & Transportation Company Limited (hereinafter referred as TIPS) was incorporated in August 1994 with registered capital of RMB 112.75 million, and started business activities in March 1997. As a large-sized joint venture company, TIPS was initially funded in sum of RMB 225.5 million by China Aviation Oil Holding Company (hereinafter referred as CAOHC), Tianjin Port Petrochemical Terminal Company (hereinafter referred as THPTC) and Shell China Holding Co., Ltd. Three shareholders respectively hold 42%, 18% and 40% of shares in issue.The business scope includes transit, loading, unloading, transportation, chemical analysis, storage and relevant services for petroleum and its subsidiary products. TIPS is located in Petrochemistry Park of Tianjin South Harbor, which is the largest artificial port in the north of China. Based in a total area of 64.7 thousand square meters, TIPS is capable of storing and transiting aviation kerosene, naphtha, petrol, diesel fuel, crude oil, fuel oil and so on. It reaches storage capacity of 200.8 thousand cubic meters with 18 storage tanks and various supporting plants and equipments. So far, the main products in transit cover aviation kerosene, crude oil, petrol, and diesel fuel. The storage terminal of TIPS is adjacent to the marine facilities, which consist of oil wharves of 5 thousand tons, 30 thousand tons, 50 thousand tons, and 250 thousand tons, owned by THPIC. Through the oil wharves, TIPS is able to load and unload various oil tankers ranging from 3 thousand to 250 thousand tons. Apart from marine transportation, it possesses pipeline transportation and tank truck’s loading and unloading operation. At present, the platform is able to allow 12 trucks to conduct loading and unloading operation simultaneously, and loading capacity reaches 700 cube meters per hour.
