SUN BEANS COFFEE

Company Description

Sun Beans Coffee is grown at Farm Hill Estates, which is located between 4000 - 6900 feet above sea level in the Blue Mountains of Jamaica. Farm Hill extends over 1000 acres. It began as one of the first coffee farms in Jamaica in 1827. The farm reaped 13 tons of coffee per year, as only 200 acres of land was being used at the time.

Sun Beans offers roasted coffee beans for the local and international markets. We are licensed and certified by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica and have been an authorized exporter since 2012. Sun Beans takes great pride in both the selection and roasting of our Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee, and we guarantee all of our coffee so that you can purchase with confidence.

Each coffee plant takes three years before it can start producing fruit, after which it will bear every year. The beans at Farm Hill are grown 100% organically, using no chemicals, fertilizers or pesticides. Sun Beans is proud to be a partner with Farm Hill Estates in producing some of the highest quality coffee beans found in the Jamaica Blue Mountains. Our Roasted Coffee Beans are Grade 1 and fit on screen 17 or 18 of the international accepted standard. This means that they have less than three percent of minor defects and a moisture content of 10 to 12.5 percent. Our beans are Medium Roasted. A very good coffee such as Jamaica Blue Mountain, should never be darker than a medium roast, as its fine flavour would be destroyed. Our coffee is full of rich flavor and aroma, full-body and moderate acidity. It is deemed by coffee drinkers around the world to possess all characteristics in perfect balance in the cup. We also produce peaberry beans which are a small, rounded bean resembling a pea. It is lighter in body and has higher acidity, with the sweetest taste of all.
