Skinny Boy Swag Club LLC

Company Description

SBSC, Skinny Boy Swag Club, the name automatically seems to be a little elitist, but on the contrary, the brand is very humble and honest. The story behind the name is a counter-culture stance on how society perceives to be the typical attractive male. Steering away from your standard societal definition of attractive, we decided to spin the ideology and encourage our consumers to embrace their individuality (regardless of your physical appearance). "Embrace Individuality" has been our mantra from the inception of the brand and since we've started our journey, we've constantly promoted positivity in our brand message and philosophy. In many of our taglines, consumers will find positive affirmations encouraging people to not only be positive, but encourage them to be unique. The brand was conceptualized on the idea that we should always pursue what makes us happy in life, and that's what we attempt to portray through our products and our team. Our styling is eclectic, and some may say that it is a challenge to cater to various demographics, we'd like to believe being eclectic is our niche. Our design concepts are always bold, minimalistic, and clean for good reason. Majority of the streetwear market is dominated by complex designs that may look trendy at one point, but then become obsolete several seasons later. We want our designs to maintain a timeless, classic feel to them which is why we try not to overdo our designs. We incorporate illustrations, typography, and imagery into our designs to keep the modern and relevant feel. Our designs are heavily influenced by our designers' creative mind which can be described as a fusion of vintage, street art, and symbolism stylings. We've noticed a collective movement in the fashion industry, not necessarily with brands, but with fashion enthusiasts. A decade ago, the line between fashion among different culture sects were easily distinguished; your hip hop genre and your rock genre were completely differentiated in terms of style. As technology and social media has slowly consumed our generation, music and entertainment has transformed the fashion industry and the fashion gap between different culture sects has become less distinct even crossing over from one culture to the next; also known as the "Verge Generation" coined by Karmaloop CEO, Greg Selkoe, and fashion/music icon, Pharrell Williams. Because our vision is such in line with this movement, we're hard pressed to classify ourselves as "streetwear" because that phrase has such an urban connotation to it, and although we do promote the urban lifestyle, we also promote the lifestyle of all different culture sects. It is apparent in our following that we don't just appeal to one particular demographic, we have followings from all different lifestyles such as urban/hip hop, indie/hipster, college/party-goers, car and bike enthusiasts, artists; writers/painters/etc., athletes/skaters, and nightclub-goers/DJs. The attraction from so many different lifestyles is the philosophy behind the brand and consumers relate to the positive message we breathe through our products and our marketing campaigns. We consider ourselves a lifestyle brand and not just a clothing brand as the entire SBSC team is comprised of individuals from all different lifestyles. Our brand is heavily influenced by the creative arts; art, music, and film and many of our designs reflect that. We've have had several names in the music industry endorse our products such as dubstep godfathers, Rusko and Bassnectar. We also work closely with singer/songwriter Blackbear, who has worked with some big names in the industry such as Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams, Mike Posner, Ne-Yo, and Rivers Cuomo. We've also teamed up with Ariez Onasis, a popular and rising artist from the Boston area and KarmaloopTV family member. In addition, we've worked with some big DJ's in the area, notably DJ JD, head music director at Shrine MGM in Foxwoods and the brand is heavily involved with promoting through the Boston VIP List and Flavor Media promoting companies (alongside with their own featured DJs) which promote highly-billed events in the Boston nightlife scene. We continue to delve into the entertainment world showing the legitimacy of the brand. At SBSC, we understand the difficulties and challenges of starting a clothing brand due to the saturated market. The number of fly-by-night operations are a dime a dozen and what exactly separates us from everyone else? I'd love to say the designs, but great designs are great designs no matter who's creating them, but we have honed in on the branding and marketing aspect of the brand. It's easy for someone with a printing press and computer to create a design, but what we're trying to do is evoke an emotion from our consumers; we want them to feel the clothing. Our main objective is to inspire people whether it be through our products or simply people who support our vision. Social media has given our generation an outlet to be creative and inspirational, and our products are only perpetuating that movement. For more information and up-to-date activity of our brand please visit our website and other social media contacts:**********Twitter: @skinnyboyscInstagram: @skinnyboyswagclub
