Saaremaa Dairy Factory is located in the largest island off the west coast of Estonia. Saaremaa Island is well known for its clean nature environment and undisturbed landscapes with the most natural pasture resources. We have two hundred years of experiences with the making of cheese products such as edam, gouda and tilsiter. In addition we offer specialty products such as smoked edam cheese (also with garlic), six months aged gouda and dry edam cheese (21% fat in dry matter). Our dairy products carry the label ?Clean Product? (Puhas Toode) which verifies that no preservatives have been used. In addition, only non-GMO animal feed is allowed. The quality of the provided milk is under strict control of the factory technologists and state labaratories. The production must meet the veterinary standards of both the European Union and Eurasian Customs Union. The products meet also the criterias of Halal Food Council. The factory is supplied by the member farmers of Saaremaa Dairy Union that operate in Saaremaa Island and have been authorised by the government?s veterinary regulatory department.Saaremaa Dairy Factory has the most advanced dairy production technology of the Baltic region. The integrated IT-system allows to maintain control over each detail of the production process. The union stands for the effective production of the local farms whose capabilities have been enhanced by the large cooperative network, science programs and fully-controlled production conditions.
