This marked an important chapter in Sony history as this is Sony's first production facility abroad. In November 1962, Son Corporation established Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Limited (Sony Hong Kong) as the third overseas company to oversee liaison activities in the Asia Pacific region.Since 1 April 2009, the company has changed the Chinese trade name in accordance with Sony's brand guideline.Sony Hong Kong is going to mark its 50th Anniversary on 23 November, 2012.
