Specialised since 1989 in the production and processing of compounds from microalgae, Necton was able to achieve a leading position in the sector of microalgae applications for aquaculture. Necton is a leading company in the field of microalgae biotechnology. The available scientific, technological and market knowledge involves applications for the Feed, Aquaculture, Agrofood, Health Food and Cosmetic Sectors.There is a wide expertise in carotenoids, poliunsaturated fatty acids and phycobiliproteins. The company has a large scale microalgae production technology using photobioreactors. The proprietary technology of the company makes it possible to cultivate freshwater, sea salinity and hyper saline microalgae of many genera. Current production species available are: Nannochloropsis, Phaeodactylum, Porphyridium, Haematococcus, Odontella and Dunaliella. Others may be produced upon request. The current staff includes PostDocs and MSc's, and several visiting researchers also support the R&D activities.
