Company Profile
Unal Group has started its operations in the construction industry in 1976. Upon completing various government projects (including a hospital, a gymnasium and several university faculties) a supplementary company, Donum Construction was established in 1984. In July 2004, Unal Group seized an opportunity in the mining industry and founded Koyunoglu Mining Company based in Adana, Turkey.
Koyunoglu specializes in chromium and ownes two chromite mines in Erdemli and Mezitli. The chromium enrichment facility near the Erdemli mine has a capacity of producing 15, 000 tones of high content (48% or higher) chromium. Koyunoglu intends to expand its capacity to 25, 000 tones in the near future by building another enrichment facility near the Mezitli Mine. Koyunoglu Mining, leverages its convenient location (The mines are only 60 kilometers away from the Mersin Port) and exports chromium across the world.
