The Cup of salvation (or ?The Cup of the waters of Eden?) is known for its curative qualities, and many great leaders, Rabbis and Halachic authorities have recommended its use in every Jewish household. Its origin is found in the Reshash?s Siddur, Nahar Shalom, where there is a description of a conversation between the angel and Rabbi Yosef Taichik. In the course of the conversation the names of the four rivers in the Garden of Eden are mentioned, as well as their various properties. It is also suggested that these names should be engraved in certain combinations (in which the letters are changed or turned around) on a pure silver goblet, and that Havdalah should be recited using this cup every week. According to the siddur, the cup of salvation assists with the birth of healthy children, opens the Gates of Mercy, grants good health, and prosperity and helps the user acquire an efficient memory and faith in G-d. These goblets are made from pure sterling silver, and the sacred names have been engraved upon them by hand by renowned Kabbalists and not laser engraved! As this work has been performed by G-d-fearing craftsmen in Israel, these goblets do not need to be ritually immersed before use.
