Jamarko Handmade Paper Products is a cottage industry established in 2058 B. S. (2001 A. D. ) , under the Private Firm Registration Act 2014, with the view to contribute towards creating a safe and sound environment as well as a means to provide employment to the underprivileged people here in Nepal.
Jamarko helps create awareness about the importance of recycling paper and provides handmade recycled paper and products to consumers. Simultaneously, we also produce traditional Nepali Lokta Paper products as per demand, including Lampshades of various designs, to financially aid the industry while working towards our goal.
While our short term objective is to minimize the amount of waste paper by creating awareness among people about the exhausted environment and the importance of using recycled paper products, our long term goal is to help conserve our natural resources.
Jamarko consumes 55 tons of waste paper every year. But the amount would rise 5 to 7 times if perspective clients and people in the country use recycled paper on a regular basis.
Jamarko provides employment through the use of labor intensive technique, giving jobs especially to disadvantaged women, the disabled and street children (mainly girls) who are mature enough and ready for rehabilitation. Furthermore, by using handmade Lokta Paper to craft our Lampshades, we provide support to the underemployed people in rural Nepal who produce Lokta Paper.

Lokta Paper Lamp Shades: Wall Lamp, Ceiling Lamp, Hanging Lamp, Table Lamp, Corner Lamp and others.
Paper Bags for various purposes varying in size of various designs.
We believe there is a high potential for the use of handmade recycle paper and products. We receive regular visitors from different countries of the world who appreciate and use our products. The young generation of our country is also very much interested in the use of recycled paper products. Moreover, a number of researchers have also visited our factory and have appreciated our effort.
The benefits of using paper products outweigh the benefits of using plastics by far. Paper, unlike plastic, is easy to dispose and can be recycled repeatedly without causing harm to the environment. Paper recycling, today, is a necessity, not a want.
