Power inverter is a power conversion device that converts 12V / 24V DC to AC 120v, 220v pure sine wave power to supply common electric appliances, it's a convenient power converter for vehicles/auto. certainly your inverter has at its entrance a rectifier bridge, either with diodes or thyristor? Such bridges, during short circuit in the upper grid will pass in between 20-30ms into bridge short circuit. Their fuses will break. this happens because external grid voltage breaks down, so no more voltage system delivering the commutation power will be present. But the driven machine is still magnetised and pushes by interal voltage and inductivities the initial current forward through the invertor bridge.
