IET has seen the medical imaging community evolve over the last 25 years and taken notice of the trends that have developed due to a multitude of circumstances (the evolution of outpatient imaging, outpatient surgery, competition among providers, governmental increase in regulations and decrease in reimbursement, hospital census, third party claim requirements, the progression of PACS, digital imaging and digital medical records, etc..).

Recently, the economic downturn of the economy has heightened the drain on profitability for both hospitals and independent imaging providers. The OEMs and ISOs have tightened their belts as well by reductions in work forces, reduced selling prices and other means to reduce their cost of operations.

The end purchaser of imaging equipment is faced daily with the need to provide state-of-the-art imaging modalities to stay competitive with other regional providers and, the reality that their budget will only stretch so far. In an environment where reimbursement is fixed (and shrinking), a quality previously owned imaging system makes more sense to the bottom line than a new system because the break even point on the cost of equipment will be 5 - 7 times shorter.

IET was formed to consult with both hospitals and outpatient providers and help them secure cost effective, quality, state-of-the-art, previously owned imaging solutions, delivered and installed in a nearly new refurbished condition.
