Stretcher strips are connected with an angle of 45° on the side where the canvas is supposed to be stretched; so, in case of extension, the canvas is perfectly stretched. On the back the stretchers cross with a 90° angle, ensuring a perfect framing. The wedges, made of hard wood, have a very strict angle which helps to regulate the canvas strain.The canvas, stretched on these stretchers, is set on the back of the stretcher by staples which offer better tightness and leaving the surface absolutely white creating new space on the edges where the artist can continue to paint. The result is an almost three-dimensional painting. A picture that is painted on stretched canvas seems to be complete in its purity and simplicity and makes the use of frame unessential.
