Mission Statement:The goal of the Empower the Philippines is to is to create and sustain yearly donation drives and to set up self sustaining, eco-friendly and tech-driven business initiatives and projects to employ and empower the less fortunate in two major Filipino cities, Manila and Davao City.The projects would co-ordinated by Filipino locals and city officials along with international volunteers.E.T.P. realizes the importance of donations in sustaining an upstart international charitable projects â but it is not enough.Donations create seasonal cycles of dependence and expectations on desperate people with limited resources. Another hard reality of the donation world is that sometimes donations do not always reach their intended recipients.That is what seperates the E.T.P. from the rest â our mission is to ensure the effectiveness of its projects by showing the before and after effects of its efforts and by placing long term international volunteers on its two inaugural projects in the Philippines.The main objective of E.T.P is to:- Use strategic donation plans to finance self sustaining and self sufficient business initiatives for disadvantaged peoples in the Philippines. Charitable donations are necessary â but what is also necessary is a sense of self empowerment.- Making the most of resources available to enact these self sustaining business initiatives. From recycling, to garbage treatment to alternative fuels made from organic matter, E.T.P. exists to show that self sustaiing business plans can be made by logically making the most of what is available.- Place international volunteers safely on long term humanitarian projects throughout the Philippines.- Create long term social entrepreneurship initiatives and green friendly business opportunities to help Filipinos help themselves, earn for themselves and become part of the global business world as small business owners.- Work with local city, government and NGO officials to realize the goals of E.T.P.- To provide video and document proof of the effectiveness of E.T.P. humanitarian projects and initiatives. Unlike other charities that ask for donations but never follow up on the effectiveness of their work, E.T.P. will prove the effectiveness of its programs with documented proof and the use of long term international volunteers.E.T.P. , as a charitable foundation, will be transperent about its operations to better prove the effectiveness of its program. We do not just want people to donate and forget the problem â we want donators and grantmakers to see the dedication of this program to succeed, to see the outcome of our project goals derived from donations and to inspire people to donate regularly based on the proven effectiveness of our programs.The Philippines has long been plagued by poverty, and the tragedies of the recent waves of typhoon landings in the country has not not helped matters. E.T.P. wants to help the impoverished to empower themselves by thinking strategically and making the most of the resources available.- Document and record this initiative with online video, blogging and other documentation.- Promote E.T.P., its inaugural project and future initiatives through late night infomercials on American TV.
