Company Description

Desert IronWood Co. is a manufacturer and distributor of wood carving collectibles. We supply from luxurious handmade crafts to high quantity souvenirs and gifts, home decorations and furniture.
The wood used for these carvings is called Ironwood, or better known as Palo Fierro. As it its name implies, it is one of the heaviest woods known to man. It will not float in water and because it is so dense, carving anything from it it is extremely difficult.
The trees grow at an altitude of 2500 feet or less in the desert and coastal regions of Arizona, California an the State of Sonora in Mexico. NO GREEN OR LIVE TREES ARE USED FOR THESE CARVINGS.
Although the Seri Indians were the first to begin carving figurines from the wood, today local Mexican craftsmen have mastered this art.
Your choice is unique; each one varying in shape, color and grain.
To properly care for your Ironwood Carvings, apply a light coat of brown or neutral paste type shoe wax, then polish with a soft cloth. Enjoy your collection.
