Trading has always been a way of life for the people of Bo, Africans from a major district in the heart of Sierra Leone, now well known as a center for diamond trading.
Centuries ago, Bo traders uncovered a hidden alchemy in trade. They learnt how to breathe life into the inanimate. A simple hand woven tie and dye ethnic garment was fashioned into an adventure of a weaver who overcame numerous obstacles to send it off to the lands beyond the Sahara.
In the fast paced world of today, this alchemy has been forgotten and replaced with a shallow exchange of goods and services for money. This void has left many a consumer questioning their buying decisions and the true value of their purchases.
Bo trade was set up to fill this void, with the objective of sharing the untold stories behind every product traded.
