Uric-SCP urinary sediment quantitative analyzer is the basic instrument of the standardization detecting of urinary sediment, which will provide the detection of urinary sediment with accuracy, consistent, and safety. It can be easy to operate, and effectively to prevent the contamination with urine specimen for the operator.In the instrument (see fig.), there are 10 counting chambers in the same depth (0.1mm), every chamber contents a counting cell where the fixed volume is 1.0 µl. The counting cell is divided into 10 large squares, then 9 small squares per large square, total 90 small squares. Thus, the volume per large square is 0.1 µl, and 0.011 µl in every small square.The national form for the result of the urinary sediment microscopic examination is often taken with the number per high power field. Because the detecting condition is not consistent, also the operator’s subjective prediction, the accuracy can not get much. In 1995, the specialists from the Laboratory Medicine Brunch of the Chinese Medical Association suggested to spread the form of the result of the urinary sediment quantitative analyzer, report as the number/µl.The specimen for detecting can be both un-centrifuged and centrifuged urine specimen. The method for the un-centrifuged sample is: Take 1 drop of the fresh well-mixed urine into the counting chamber and exam directly with microscopy. The number of the formed elements counted in the 10 large squares is the number in the1.0 µl urine. When the number of the formed elements is in a large amount, 1 or 2 large squares can be counted, then multiply 10 or 5 to get the number in the 1.0 µl urine.
