In the passivation process after buffing, acid and rinsing remove surface contaminants from the products and produce a hydrous oxide film which enhances corrosion resistance. Every production shipment tested and certified.Our stainless steel products based on tests done to the ASTM B117 method suggest a Duplex 2205 type part could be expected to pass a 120 hour test using a 3% salt spray,316 type part could be expected to pass a 96 hour test using a 3% salt spray.
