Atul ltd
One of the largest chemical complexes in india, based in one of the greenest sites. Within its campus of 1250 acres, atul ltd. In its 50 chemical plants, covers almost all aspects of organic chemical synthesis.
Established in 1947 at the time of indian independence, the name atul has become globally known for its high quality range of dyes, dye intermediates, agrochemicals, polymers and organic chemicals.

PP site

This is the erstwhile cibatul limited, a joint venture with ciba geigy, and now a part of atul.
This site houses the polymer and pharmaceutical activities of atul.

The polymers division manufactures and markets epoxy resins and harderners under the brand name lapox.

Pharmaceuticals&intermediates division

For over two decades, this unit was manufacturing sulpha drug intermediates for ciba geigy. Now, as a separate division of atul, it has diversified into a wide range of specialty intermediates and apis.

Atul is the world leader in dapsone, an anti-bacterial drug. A newly built cgmp manufacturing plant, supported by an approved dmf, assure you a high quality and regular supply.

The division specializes in offering a range of fine chemicals and intermediates based on in-house phosgene supply. Intermediates based on phosgenation and hydrogenation are offered from kilogram to metric ton scale.

Current facility

1. Currently, material is produced at pilot level,10 to 500 kg
2. Pilot plant: Reactor capacities from 250 ltrs. To 2000 ltrs.
3. Laboratory facilities up to 20 ltrs. Capacities.
4. Reactions carried out from -10 0 c to +120 0 c.
5. High vacuum distillation for purification of isocyanates&chloroformates.

Features of new project

1. Multipurpose batch phosgenation plant.
2. Current plant area:3,230 sq. M. Future expansion area:1020 sq m.
3. Expected capacity of 300 - 400 mt per year, with multiple products.
4. Phosgene supply through dedicated pipeline.
5. Modular plant design, with scope for future expansion.
6. A total of 13 reactors, main reactors of 3,000 and 6,000 liters, mostly msgl
7. One stream of 5,000 l ss reactors.
8. High vacuo distillation till 1mm hg in 1500 l ss and msgl system for isocyanates and
Chloroformates.

The plant will work with ISO 9000 implementation&gmp compliant. However, as us FDA is not mandatory for intermediates, plant will not be us FDA approved.
