All of our Teak comes from ecologically managed plantations in Indonesia, which are supported by government approved certificates. A programme of continuous replanting is maintained, ensuring the forests are sustainable and protected. All timber supplied to the factory that produced this fine furniture is traceable back to the plantations. Our Teak furniture has been seasoned, kiln dried and then finely sanded to give a very smooth appearance. During certain times of the year, changes in humidity and changes in temperature during transportation may cause “furring” where a white powder can be present on the furniture; this is a perfectly natural occurrence and can simply be wiped off with a soft damp cloth. It has no lasting effects on the furniture. Small surface cracks on Teak furniture are again caused by changes in humidity and temperature and also have no lasting effects.
